"When you discover a monster under your bed, there are three ways to react:
You can hide under the covers, squeeze your eyes shut tightly, begging it to disappear. That’s for the weak, the scaredy-cats, the cowards—in a word… children.
You can also decide to build a bed without legs, with the mattress right on the floor, or block the space under the bed with large drawers filled with old clothes to prevent the monster from settling in. That’s the solution of the pragmatic, the weary, those who always have an answer, who are always right—in a word… parents.
Or you can go talk to the monster for a couple of minutes and see if there’s a chance to be loved. That’s what orphans, the lost, those who have been abandoned do. And that’s exactly what I decide to do at this very moment: I, Poucet."
Solo performance, blending acting and puppetry.

Note of intent-
An Audience at the Heart of the Action...
Beyond the reinterpretation of the story of Poucet through the lens of the hero as an adult, the uniqueness of this performance also lies in the staging that aims to integrate the audience.
To achieve this, the space is designed as a "triangle" in which the actor will evolve as the adult Poucet. At each corner of the triangle, a game table is used to evoke Poucet's story, staged with puppets.
The seating is arranged to form a U-shape around the base of the triangle. The goal is to create a "closed" space, an atmosphere reminiscent of Poucet's old hut.
In this space, the audience is involved. Poucet interacts with the spectators, plays with them, and invites some to become actors in his story: wolves from the forest, Poucet's brothers, or even trees.
With this particular arrangement, one can imagine any flat space becoming Poucet's "hut."
Indoors, the performance can take place in smaller spaces, on theater stages or other cultural venues, even in a private living room, where the audience can sit on cushions to be even closer to the performance area and experience the story from within.
In street theater, it is the circle of spectators that will define the space.
For outdoor performances, one can envision performing at the forest's edge, in a clearing, or in a courtyard.
And if the location lacks intimacy, the company can provide a wooden and fabric stage (a structure) measuring 17m x 14m, accommodating up to 180 people.
... An Immersive Sound Environment...
The music and songs have been composed by Yves Chomez and performed by the children’s choir from the Jodoigne Music Academy. Finally, the sound designers (Yves Chomez and Thémis Noben) conducted research on sound effects to make them as realistic as possible, enhancing the immersion of the audience in Poucet's hut.
... Puppets in Service of the Actor
To tell his childhood story, the adult Poucet blends acting (using various objects) with the manipulation of different rod puppets, which is the artistic technique that defines the company.
